Description¶
The expedition to investigate Osial in the Guyun Stone Forest came away with slim pickings. Kliment and Wanyan also clashed vociferously over their differing perspectives, which has greatly displeased the former.
During the argument, he heard Wanyan mention the tale of the God of Salt, and decided to take the party there to try their luck, lest he finishes this venture empty-handed.
How To Complete A Ruin Under the Key in Genshin Impact¶
Right, all you need to do to complete A Ruin Under the key is work your way through the steps below in order.
Steps¶
- Go to Sal Terrae
- Go to the first contraption
- Look for a spot from which the picture formed by the relics can be seen
- Go to the second contraption
- Follow Zhongli’s instructions and light the monuments up
- Go to the site of the broken seal
Go to Sal Terrae¶
Teleport to the Sal Terrae Waypoint (Sal Terrae can be found west of Dragonspine) and head to the small island to the north, you’ll notice a ruin with a magical seal with a Stone Tablet just in front of it, go towards it for a cut scene which will mention about a contraption to unlock it.
Go to the first contraption¶
Head southwest across the sea to the west of the larger island in the center.
Rotate your camera so the Glyph aligns like this image.
Look for a spot from which the picture formed by the relics can be seen¶
Stand on the spot just infront of the tilted pillar of salt and face to look at the rocks to the west, rotate your camera slightly to make the golden glyph line up
Go to the second contraption¶
Go to the east end of the same island and you’ll get a small scene where Zhongli will tell of the tale “Tianheng in the South, Yaoguang in the East, Jueyun in the West, Qingce in the North - All desolate and devoid of life, Liyue is vast, yet even one haven is hard to find”.

Follow Zhongli’s instructions and light the monuments up¶
With this clue we need to activate the Electro totems in the same order as the tale, so South, East, West and finally North. After activating them all you’ll see some dialogue about it.
If everything is done correctly, you’ll notice the seal has disappeared.
Go to the site of the broken seal¶
Head back to the ruin up north and after the cut scene, the quest will end.
